WFEPC - Welsh Further Education Purchasing Consortium

About us

WFEPC membership comprises of all 20 colleges and institutes within the Welsh FE sector.

WFEPC’s goals and operation are fully consistent with and supportive of the Welsh Assembly Government’s aspirations and agenda, as set out in ‘Making the Connections’ and ‘Delivering the Connections’, in terms of stronger collaboration and viewing ‘smarter procurement’ as a key vehicle for delivering value for money improvements.

WFEPC’s scale, influence and contribution have grown steadily since its inception, as evidenced by the increase in members’ spend through WFEPC contracts from £2 million in 2001/2 to over £11 million in 2010/11. Through the use of these contracts, members have an overall savings of 28% of total spend.

The WFEPC has been successful in:

  • Developing strong and effective working relationships with all its member organisations.
  • Encouraging the exchange of experiences, expertise and market intelligence amongst its members and providing them with ready access to information and contract details.
  • Promulgating best procurement practice through, for example, developing standard procurement documentation and the provision of training.
  • Forging and strengthening relationships with ‘like minded’ organisations beyond the Welsh FE sector e.g. Value Wales and Buy Solutions.
